Top 5 places you shouldn't miss when visiting Singapore

Gardens by the Bay

For being such a tiny country, Singapore has a lot to offer. The city/country has a certain uniqueness, that is caused by the amazing coexistent relationship between the modernity of the city and the care for the nature that surrounds it. The city has many beautiful attractions, and people usually visit it for a short period of time, so here I share with you some of the ones you should not miss.

1.- Gardens by the Bay: This is the iconic place you see in all the posts about Singapore. The gardens themselves are beautiful, with many beautiful flowers, and many paths to follow, and this is the place where you can find the Supertree Grove.

2.- Cloud Forest & Flower Dome: They are a botanical garden and a greenhouse, respectively. They are both breathtaking. I cannot really describe them to you, except to tell you that they are both, specially the Cloud Forest, magical.

3.- Marina Bay Sands: This beautiful building is a picture perfect hotel. It is right across the street from the Gardens by the Bay on one side, and on the other side, right across the Marina Bay shopping mall, which also hosts a casino. Tip: If you don't want -or can't- to stay at the hotel, there are many bars and restaurants on the rooftop. They vary in prices, but they all have access to see the beautiful Singapore skyline. You should make a reservation to go up, usually one or two days before should work with some of the restaurants.

Chinatown: If you are looking to buy souvenirs, this is the best place! Cheaper than souvenir shops at tourist attractions, and you have a wider variety too. If you want to grab some Chinese food, this is the place to do that as well.

Orangutan at the Singapore Zoo.

Singapore Zoo: I usually don't like to visit zoos, but I made an exception for this one, as it had great reviews. What I loved about this zoo is that you get to see Orangutans, many of them. They have play areas on the trees around certain areas of the zoo, so you can just look up and see them playing around. It was certainly a beautiful experience. Recommended for animal lovers.

*Extra*: There is a Universal Studios Park in Singapore! It is located in the Resorts World Sentosa, and it's right next to an aquarium, casino, shops and hotels. You can get there by taxi. Worth a visit if you are a fan of theme parks, like I am.
